Forbid contains Spiromesifen: 2-oxo-3-(2, 4, 6- trimethylphenyl)-1-oxaspiro [4, 4] non-3-en-4-yl 3,3-dimethylbutanoate and this is used for control of mites and whiteflies on ornamental plants, in an around areas such as parks, golf courses, recreational areas, and residential or commercial buildings. Forbid is formulated to control all stages of mite development, but it is most effective in the susceptible, mite juvenile stages and as such, sprays should be timed with the developing mite population to control them at younger stages. FORBID 4F is also highly effective against whitefly nymphs, plus it has a significant effect on the otherwise difficult to control pupal stage. For best results against whitefly, applications should target these life stages. FORBID 4F can be applied by ground equipment. However, thorough coverage of all plant parts is required for optimum performance. Performance evaluations should be made 4 – 10 days after application.

Mode of Action
Forbid works by disrupting lipid biosynthesis in treated insects. Because lipid molecules help regulate water content in insects, Forbid prevents proper water balance, which results in desiccation. The treated mite or whitefly dries up and dies within two to three days of treatment. Forbid extends effective control and offers more flexibility by being highly active against all mobile and immobile stages of mites (e.g., eggs, nymphs, immobile nymphs and adults), and active against all mobile and immobile stages of whiteflies, which are active against adults and mobile immatures; and growth regulators, which are active against eggs and immatures. Forbid extends effective control and offers more flexibility by being highly active against all mobile and immobile stages of mites (e.g., eggs, nymphs, immobile nymphs and adults), and active against all mobile and immobile stages of whiteflies.
